Will L.A. really be Alec Baldwin's kind of town?
Actor Alec Baldwin grew weary of New York's disrespectful paparazzi and public atmosphere, and will embark on a journey to the City of Angels. Columnist and Los Angeles (LA) resident Meghan Daum questions Baldwin’s decision to relocate from New York (NY) to LA. By utilizing a contemplative and responsive tone and casual language, she gives off the impression of welcoming a reply—especially from fellow LA residents. This columns gives off the impression of having coffee with a peer, discussing a celebrity's arrival to town. Daum appeals to the LA audience because they can decipher whether the move is worthy.
Daum also evaluates which city would better handle Baldwin’s personality. She discusses LA’s supposed low-key nature in comparison to NY’s “street performance escapades” and opts that Baldwin may misunderstand the Angelenos lifestyle. She explains that LA's low-key image seems overblown.
As a journalist herself, one more classy and respectful than the paparazzi, she narrates the interview she had with a celebrity. Apparently, her interviewee's fame was so popular, paparazzi awaited her arrival to the interview. She admits that stars in LA get harassed just as much as NY'ers do. However, because LA has houses and fancy cars, Baldwin can at least close his gate and roll up his tinted window.
